Scheels is opening it’s 29th location in Colorado Springs. This behemoth of a store is 259,338 square feet of everything sports and more.

Bible Electric’s work includes electrical and control support for a 16,000-gallon saltwater aquarium that greets guests as they enter the store. A 65’ tall Ferris wheel lies just beneath 1,054 electro-chromatic panes produced by Sage Glass. This special glass is connected to multiple daylighting sensors that allow the glass to darken as needed resulting in lighting and air conditioning savings for the customer. We put our Trimble RTS 873 to work laying out over 500 floor boxes and 4 lengths of Walker Duct with precise accuracy in record time. On the main level you will find Ginna’s Cafe that provide a place for guests to rest and enjoy gourmet coffees’, fudge assortments, and a handful of other treats. On the second floor you will find Fuzziwig’s Candy Factory offering an incredible variety of over 400 bulk candies, chocolates, and specialty toys.

Bible Electric also installed three 750kVA Cummins emergency generators powered by natural gas. These generators feed a 3000-amp paralleling switchboard that was also installed by Bible. This power generation was carefully coordinated with Colorado Springs Utilities to provide load shaving functionality during peak demand times. The paralleling switchgear feeds six large Eaton IFS switchboards strategically placed throughout the store. These switchboards are an all-in-one unit that contain transformers, branch panelboards with addressable breakers, and lighting control panels. Nearly every single one of the over 7,000 light fixtures is fed with 0-10 volt dimming capability. Hundreds of 0-10 volt dimming circuits were carefully labeled and terminated in the IFS switchboards. Over 6,000 linear feet of track lighting is installed throughout both levels of this store. Multiple conveyor belt systems were installed to transfer goods from the loading dock to each of the four levels of back-of-house storage space.

This store is also protected by a U.L. certified lighting protection system. A full voice fire alarm system and emergency 2-way communication system is also installed by Colorado Electrical Systems throughout the building for occupant safety.
